Blackbird- turdus merula225 viewsThis shot shows the all round vision the blackbird and other "prey" birds have. The eye balls can clearly be seen even though the photo is from the back. This positioning of the eye is great for seeing predators but not so good for seeing down which is why blackbirds are often seen cocking their heads looking like they are listening .
